Academia is the name used to refer to a group of aesthetics that tend to embrace learning, mostely through studying, research, and reading.
While there is a good amount of aesthetics in the academia group, the three biggest one's are Dark Academia, Light Academia, and Art Academia.
Dark Academia is considered the original academic aesthetic, it centers around classic literature particularly from the 19th century Europe.
It's themes are commonly on the darker side including tragedy, heartbreak, depression, substance abuse, and death.
The most common colors associated with Dark Academia are Earth tones, brown, tan, and black.
After Dark Academia is it's visually lighter opposite, Light Academia. While Light Academia also takes inspiration from classic Europe, it tends to take from its brighter sides.
Light Academia's themes are often positive, centering around joy, motivation, friendship, and happy endings in general. The commonly used colors with Light Academia are cream, beige, light brown, white, and plaid.
The last of the main three is Art Academia, it centers more on visual arts like painting, sketch, photography, sculpture, and calligraphy.
While it does embrace learning and studying like Dark and Light Academia, it draws inspiration from Greek and Roman pieces of art rather than European writing.
The colors that are commonly used with Art Academia is Cadmium yellow, dark browns, white, and the rainbow due to it being more of a art aesthetic than anything else.
