Synthwave
Syntwave or Outrun is a aesthetic that is most commonly associated with the 80's and recently the 90's as well. Despite Synthwave and Vaporwave often being considered the same thing, there are important differences between the two that make them separate aesthetics. While Synthwave is most commonly seen as a musical genre, there are examples of is being in other pieces of media like art, movies, video games, and TV shows.

While there is no given time that Synthwave was created, it seems to have been started in the 1980s to 2000s because of acts like Justice, College, Kavinsky. While it had been established somewhere in the 1980s, Synthwave (arguably) hit mainstream with Daft Punk album, Dicsovery. Since Synthwave is mostly a music based aesthetic and created sometime in the 1980s, music from Synthwave comes from popular movies from the time like Halloween, The Thing, Blade Runner, and They Live. One of the similarites between Synthwave and Vaporwave is that they both were influenced(at least visually) by early New Romantic and New Wave moevements. In recent times Synthwave's popularity has dipped, it still has a dedicated fanbase and those who created music in this genre are still doing alright for themselves.

Synthwave is mostly a musical genre, there are still popular visuals that go along with it just like any other aesthetic. Synthwave's style is often seen with neon colors, wireframe landscapes, 80's sports cars, sunsets and sunrises, and chrome like imagery. The most common colors associated with Synthwave are black, blue, purple, pink, cyan, orange, yellow, and magenta.
